While traveling in South Africa, Peter came across this authentic coin from the Roman Empire and couldn't leave without it. Likely minted in the mid-300's AD, this very unusual bronze coin depicts the profile of a woman. Almost all coins created during the Roman Empire depicted men on the front. Our research indicates that the few women placed on Roman coins would have likely been the current Emperor's Wife; the Empress. We carefully placed this special coin into a hand made White Sterling Silver frame so it could be shared with no damage done to the coin.
